Ian “Stu” Stewart, born Ian Andrew Robert Stewart on July 18, 1938 was a co-founder of the Rolling Stones and keyboardist. He was dismissed from the group in May 1963 but remained as road manager and pianist until his death on December 12, 1985. He was the first to respond to Brian Jones’s ad in the May 2, 1962 Jazz News seeking musicians to form a rhythm and blues group.
